Our history
Over the years, inepro has continuously adapted to changing market demands, introducing innovative technologies that enhance operational efficiency for businesses. With a commitment to excellence, inepro has built a strong reputation for delivering reliable and user-friendly solutions that empower organisations across various industries to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
1953
In 1953, Mr Clewits senior started selling energy meters. On his carrier cycle, he went to houses to buy old meters. He refurbished these, recalibrated them and sold them again. Later he expanded the product portfolio to include gas meters running on coins and this is where the payment systems were born.
After his son Ritske graduated, the coin systems were expanded to include chip card systems and in 1990 Ritske started the company IPC Systems. In 1990, IPC Systems installed the first chip card system in Dutch hospitals, where you could use a chip card to pay to watch TV and make telephone calls. In 1996, the Amsterdam Arena and the Gelredome were equipped with a chip card payment system. IPC Systems was a leader in the development and installation of chip card payment systems. IPC Systems’ timers and coin-operated machines can still be found at showers on campsites, on tanning beds and on copiers in supermarkets.

2010
The company was based in Leimuiden for 20 years, before the existing head office in Nieuw-Vennep was officially opened in 2010. This new head office was built entirely to the company’s design, using the latest green innovations and techniques. For example, thanks to geothermal heat and concrete core activation, 40% of energy is saved annually and the building is fully CO2neutral. Everything is designed to create an optimal working environment.
In 2021, inepro launched the new Spider-RFID reader series. The unique feature of these RFID readers is that they support a wide range of technologies including NFC and Bluetooth Low Energy. Because convenience is paramount in the development of our products and services, inepro has also developed several useful mobile phone tools, including an ID app and a configurator app specifically for the Spider RFID reader.

2024
In early 2024 inepro Metering is proud to introduce its latest innovation, the Ambition 4PU-DC-Mod Meter, in response to the surging demand for sustainable energy solutions. This cutting-edge meter is designed to cater to the evolving landscape of energy consumption, particularly in sectors embracing solar panels, electric vehicles, and other direct current (DC) applications.
In October 2024, after nearly 40 years at the helm, CEO Ritske Clewits passed the role of CEO to Jeroen Pynenburg. Jeroen Pynenburg brings significant expertise in electronics and e-mobility, which aligns with the company’s forward-looking strategy and growth objectives.
